Missouri River Ranch Luxury Accommodations

Stay at a Ranch That Captures the True Majesty of Montana

Our Ranch

In order to protect the natural resources of the 160 acre Ranch, the property is under a Conservation Easement managed by the Montana Land Reliance. This Easement runs with the property in perpetuity so future generations will enjoy the same scenic beauty of the Missouri Valley as we enjoy today.

Your Hosts

Chip and Sue Anderson are both 3rd generation Montanans. After school, they decided to see the world working in high profile corporate jobs: Chip in the telecom industry and Sue in banking. But as we all know Montana has a way of pulling you back home.  The Andersons are in their 9th season owning the Missouri River Ranch.

Sue, Chip and their cat Ratso look forward to welcoming you to the Missouri River Ranch.

Lodging & Amenities

The lodge offers all of the amenities you would expect to find at the Missouri River’s premier destination. The lodge has 10 spacious guest rooms which either step out onto an 1800 square foot shared river view deck or step out onto your own private balcony.  Just off the Great Room you will find an open kitchen where you can converse with our Chef as he prepares your gourmet meal which will be enjoyed in our dining deck with views of the Wild Missouri and surrounding mountains.

Loafing Shed Rooms:

Room #8 in the Loafing Shed:

The Loafing Shed has six rooms, each of which is furnished with a private bath, queen beds and custom amenities. Four of the rooms open to an 1800 square foot cedar deck that overlooks the river and surrounding mountains. Bed configurations vary in order to best accommodate couples, fishing buddies, friends, and families.

Original Lodge Guest Rooms:

The Main Lodge has four rooms, each of which is furnished with a private bath, king bed and custom amenities. Three of the rooms have private balconies that overlook the river and surrounding mountains and one of the rooms opens to a deck with views of the river and surrounding mountains.

Fine Dining:

Missouri River Ranch’s dining room has earned the reputation for the finest cuisine in the area.
Breakfast can be enjoyed on the Dining Deck while watching the sunrise. Our Chef prepares hot, made to order specialties as well as organic cereals, homemade breakfast breads, fresh fruit and yogurt. Or, ask for a breakfast sandwich to go if you want to get to your day’s adventures quickly.

After a day of activities, relax and enjoy your favorite beverage at the bar while catching up on everyone’s adventures. Our bar includes a great selection of beer, wine and liquor, as well as non-alcoholic options. Freshly prepared appetizers, gourmet entrees and desserts are served on the Dining Deck while enjoying the panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.

Great Room:

By design the lodge incorporated the original dairy barn which was built in 1928 as the gathering point for our guests. On the second floor, which was formerly a hay loft for the dairy ranch, is our Great Room. You can relax after a day of outdoor activities by the huge stone fireplace; chat with our chef about the evening’s meal; or relax on the dining deck with your favorite beverage and appetizers. As guests who have been enjoying the lodge since 1997 know, this room was a bit rustic – post remodel the Great Room now offers heating and air-conditioning, as well as the four season glass enclosed dining deck and custom kitchen. For those that need to stay connected to the outside world, the Great Room offers both WiFi and television with over 300 channels to view while enjoying your favorite beverage at our copper topped bar.

Dining with a View.

Enjoy freshly prepared appetizers, gourmet entrees and desserts on the Dining Deck while taking in the panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.

Before Breakfast or After Dinner:

A great way to either start the day or end it is with a relaxing walk on the 160 acres. Check out the cottontail rabbits, geese, osprey, beaver, muskrats, pelicans, eagles and whitetail deer. Bird watchers have discovered many different species of birds at Missouri River Ranch. Walk the mile plus loop around the alfalfa fields and check out the fish rising in the Missouri – you may be inspired to wet a line.
