By this time next week, our first guests will be on the water and kicking off the 2025 season at MRR! Conditions are shaping up to be fantastic as the Missouri embraces spring. Flows are currently at 3560CFS and water temps are 43.5°F.
Dry fly fishing has been excellent as water temps hit the magical mid-to-low 40's. BWOs have been hatching in good numbers mid-morning. Midges continue to provide great action through the day and especially in the evening. Various stonefly patterns have also taken trout. This is a great time of year to experience dry fly fishing with limited crowds and "uneducated" trout!
BWO nymphs have recharged the river system and are providing excellent nymphing opportunities. Anglers are finding trout beginning to leave their winter water and spread out throughout the runs. Keep in mind that some spawning activity may still be occurring and practice good river etiquette.
Streamer fishing continues to provide on overcast days. Retrieve speeds are slower than in the fall, but don't be scared to switch it up and find what works best for you.

Drop us a line, and we'll see you soon at the ranch! This is sure to be an unbelievable season on the Missouri.
