Fly Fishing Update: This week is feeling like fall might be around the corner, and fall is one of the best seasons for fly fishing in Montana! Streamer fishing, great nymphing, and BWOs. The rain and cooler evening temps will give way to another bust of heat, however, those lower evening temperatures are keeping the river at a beautiful 64°F. Flows are consistent at 4160 CFS as of this report, and the river is fishing beautifully. Hoppers & Ants are the main attraction. The morning Trico hatch has cooled off, although pockets can still be found. Hoppers are producing exciting takes, but glitter ants are consistently fooling fish over grass flats and just off of the banks. Nymphing continues to produce well during lulls in the dry fly action. Guest have been taking fish on zirdles (swung off of shallow shelfs), zebra midges, frenchies, and thunderbugs. Streamer fishing continues to be slow, but with the cooler weather in the forecast, we expect to see an uptick in activity shortly! Drop us a line and we hope to see you soon!
