Fly Fishing Update:
Cool weather has returned to the Missouri River valley! With that cooler weather, fishing start times have pushed back to around 8:00AM. The river is in great shape, and recreational floaters are not as present as they have been. Flows have held around 4,550 CFS and the water temperature is currently 62.6°F.
Early morning dry fly action is still the main event! Our anglers have been feeding some very difficult trico-sipping fish, along with a steady diet of ants and hoppers. While the action occurs in a shorter window, the takes have been incredibly exciting!
Nymphing presents some difficulties with weeds, but is still very effective. Shallow and deep nymphing continues to produce beautiful rainbows, and water temperatures are conducive to good fights!
Streamer fishing had a rebound this week! Cloudy weather and cooler temps gave anglers the opportunity to move some nice browns on streamers. We expect to see streamer fishing resurge as temps drop, weeds clear and as fall is around the corner.
Drop us a line and we hope to see you soon!
